Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Colton passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. The son of Joshua and Emily (Deck) Jensen was born July 22, 1999, in Norfolk. He was baptized on Aug. 1, 1999, at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk and confirmed on May 4, 2014, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. In 2018, he graduated from Winside High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. Colton was recently working as a ranch hand in the Burwell area. Colton was registered to start college this fall at Chadron State, planning to be part of the Chadron State Rodeo Team. Colton was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bull riding, playing high school football and also playing basketball. Colton had an unconditional love for his family and friends. He took every chance he could get to spend it with his brothers, sister and parents. Colton also enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Trinity Lutheran Church in Winside and the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association. Survivors are his parents, Josh and Emily Jensen of Hoskins; two brothers, Carter Jensen and Colbey Jensen; a sister, Lainey Jensen of Hoskins; his grandparents, Doug and Beth Deck of Hoskins, Warren and Deb Jensen of Norfolk and Rick and Joann Robinette of Norfolk; his great-grandparents, Myron and Lou Deck of Hoskins and Leroy and Janelle Fischer of Pierce; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Linda Jensen and great-great-grandmother Helen Rahl. Casketbearers will be Brandon Watters, Jon Escalante, Trey Meis, Jashaun Vyborny, Reid Helgoth, Clayton Miller, Kyle Smith and Trenten Bauer. Rouillard, (Mahpiya Ho Tanka Mani), age 39, of Santee, Nebraska was born March 20, 1979, in Sioux City, Iowa to Laura A. Rouillard and Arturo Arana. He lived most of his life in Sioux City where he received his GED. Arturo worked hard at a number of jobs. In 2010, he moved to Santee, Nebraska. In Santee, Arturo became a B.I.A. Wildland Firefighter working with his “band of brothers” for the past eight years. Arturo loved being a firefighter and thrived on helping others. He loved his family above all else. He was especially close to his mother Laura, and girlfriend, Adrienne Denney. Arturo began dating Adrienne five years ago. They did everything together from fishing to cruising and “bumping” to music. He was honored to become step-father to Adrienne’s precious children: Dakota, Georgianna, Nina, Taneice, and Tessa Denney. Arturo also loved being “Papa Art” to Adrienne’s beautiful grandbabies: Harmony, Amari Jaie, Mila, and Azarah. Adrienne and Arturo were inseparable. Arturo also loved music, cars, ATVs and motorcycles. He loved storytelling and joking around and constantly making others laugh including his cousins, Michele Haller and Carrie Rouillard. Arturo’s humor was among his many gifts. In 2005, when Arturo’s beloved grandmother Ruby passed, he wrote a poem in her honor which he titled “I Sit and Cry.” Arturo was loving and was deeply loved by all, especially his mother. He would text his mother twice a day to check on her. Arturo leaves behind his mother, Laura Rouillard; his auntie, Lynne Rouillard; cousins, Michele Haller (husband John), Carrie Rouillard, and their families; his hunka brother, James and Veronica Starr Comes Out and family. He also leaves behind all of his other aunties, uncles, cousins, and other extended family and close friends. Arturo was preceded in death by his father, Arturo Arana; his maternal grandparents, Ted and Ruby Rouillard Robertson; paternal grandparents, Felix and Candelara Arana of Jalisco, Mexico; uncle Gary Rouillard, uncle Larry Rouillard; and auntie Emily Frazier. Ron died Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Avera Creighton Care Centre in Creighton. Ronald LaVerne Cook, son of Orval and Louise (Block) Marshall Cook, was born December 29, 1929, at Walnut, Nebraska. He attended District 18 School until the eighth grade, and then attended Verdigre High School, graduating in 1947. Ron was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where, at the age of four, he met a girl named Carol Marie Pierce. He told his brother that he was going to marry that girl. Ron and Carol attended Sunday school, were confirmed, and attended high school together. On September 23, 1951, they were married at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Ron spent his life on the farm except for the time he spent in Korea with the United States Army during the Korean War. Ron and Carol were blessed with twelve children: Kathryn, Alice, Charles, Mary, Ruth, Martha, Janet, Rachel, Nellie, James, Patty, and Penny. Ron is survived by his wife, Carol; children, Kathy Weber (Leo) Specht of Towner, Colorado, Alice Fritz of Waco, Nebraska, Charles (Marjorie) Cook of Verdigre, Nebraska, Mary (Paul) Menter of Lincoln, Nebraska, Ruth Cook of Verdigre, Martha Cook of Norfolk, Nebraska, Janet (Kent) Hollman of Grand Island, Nebraska, Rachel (Steve) Boyer of Marengo, Illinois, Nellie (Nathan) Ristvedt of Utica, Nebraska, James (Lisa) Cook of Verdigre, Patty (Kenny) Cope of Lincoln, and Penny (Brian) Meyer of Seward, Nebraska; 38 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Arne Pierce and Larry Pilar; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Pierce. Ron would frequently ask his grandchildren “What was the best thing I ever did for you?” Everyone knew the answer was “married Grandma.” He was preceded in death by his parents, Orval and Louise Cook; parents-in-law, Frank and Mary Pierce; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alfred (Anne) Marshall and Richard (Marlene) Cook; brother, Ben Marshall; sister, Merleen Pilar; sons-in-law, Larry Weber and Allen Fritz; granddaughter, Melinda Ristvedt; brother-in-law, Dean Pierce; and sisters-in-law, Roma Ham and Doris Meyer. June Pearl (Hilfiker) Petersen, daughter of Elmer and Margaret “Maggie” (Sawyer) Hilfiker, was born June 4, 1922, at Crofton, Nebraska. She attended rural school and graduated from Bloomfield High School. June was united in marriage to Raymond E. Petersen at Star Church in rural Knox County, Nebraska. They were blessed with six children. June was a caregiver throughout her lifetime. She lovingly cared for her daughter, Margaret, and later for her mother, Maggie. There was always an abundance of love and food in June’s home. Family and friends would often gather at her house. Many quilting bees were held there as well. June helped on her parent’s farm, worked in her garden, and sewed clothes for her family, along with other household chores. June was a hard worker, and although she never worked outside her home, she was always willing to help her church, her community, and volunteer at Bloomfield Good Samaritan Society. She gave her heart and love to many people. June was a member of Christ Memorial United Methodist Church in Bloomfield and was very active in the Ladies Aid. She was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. June is survived by her daughter, Lila Petersen of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; and her son, Donald Petersen of Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; children, Margaret Petersen, Leslie Petersen, Loren Petersen, and Jean Stine; and six brothers and sisters.
