Funeral service for Colton J. Jensen, 18, of rural Hoskins will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 1, 2018 at the Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk with Reverend Chip Winter officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m., Thursday, at Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk. Colton passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Norfolk is in charge of the arrangements.
The son of Joshua and Emily (Deck) Jensen was born July 22, 1999, in Norfolk. He was baptized on Aug. 1, 1999, at Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk and confirmed on May 4, 2014, at the Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk. In 2018, he graduated from Winside High School, where he was a member of the National Honor Society. Colton was recently working as a ranch hand in the Burwell area. Colton was registered to start college this fall at Chadron State, planning to be part of the Chadron State Rodeo Team. Colton was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bull riding, playing high school football and also playing basketball. Colton had an unconditional love for his family and friends. He took every chance he could get to spend it with his brothers, sister and parents. Colton also enjoyed spending time with his friends. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Norfolk, Trinity Lutheran Church in Winside and the Nebraska High School Rodeo Association. Survivors are his parents, Josh and Emily Jensen of Hoskins; two brothers, Carter Jensen and Colbey Jensen; a sister, Lainey Jensen of Hoskins; his grandparents, Doug and Beth Deck of Hoskins, Warren and Deb Jensen of Norfolk and Rick and Joann Robinette of Norfolk; his great-grandparents, Myron and Lou Deck of Hoskins and Leroy and Janelle Fischer of Pierce; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Linda Jensen and great-great-grandmother Helen Rahl. Casketbearers will be Brandon Watters, Jon Escalante, Trey Meis, Jashaun Vyborny, Reid Helgoth, Clayton Miller, Kyle Smith and Trenten Bauer.
