The Earl Norman American Legion Post 63 and Roy Carlson VFW Post 5824 and Auxiliaries of Wausa will be hosting the 96th Annual Wausa Memorial Day Program on Monday. It will begin at 10 am at the Auditorium.
The WHS Music Department will providing special music throughout the service. There will also be the Veterans' Roll Call. The featured speaker will be Matt Norlen, pastor of the Wausa Covenant Church. High school students Travis Gillilan and Claire Vanness, who were the first and second place finishers, respectively, of the "Voices Of Democracy" writing contest, will be reading their patriotic essays.
The program will then move to the outside garden on the west lawn. The Memorial Wall will also be decorated at this time. The morning will conclude with a salute by the firing squad followed by Taps, played by members of the WHS band.
