The basketball teams traveled to Orchard on January 9 for games against Clearwater/Orchard and could only muster one win out of the four games.
The boys varsity started in the hole as the Cyclones scored the first 13 point. Creighton them caught back up scoring the next 10, then took a small half-time lead. Things didn't go so well in the second half as the Bulldogs could only score 9 points and dropped the 60-36 decision.
They were led by Conner Hammer's 10 points. Noah Lilly had 8, Wyatt Diedrichsen 7, and Chase Largen 6. Also scoring was Carson Lilly with 3 and Brady Nelson with 2.
The boys JVs chalked up our lone win of the evening, outscoring O/C 35-10 in their 2 quarter game. Conner Hammer had 15, Brian Johnson had 9, Braxton Brockhaus 4, Tyler Wagner 3, Sam Van Metre 2, and Dylan Kuhlman and Brennan Pint 1 each.
The girls both lost one point games. The varsity had a very slow start, scoring only 9 points in the first half, but came back with 26 in the 2nd as they lost 36-35. Ashtyn Fritz led with 12 points, Sydney Walton had 8, and Kasey Kuhl had 7. Also scoring was Alaina Farnik, Jordyn Kuhl, Charlize Wilmes, and Clarissa Becker, all with 2 each.
The JV girls lost their 2 quarter game 13-12. Kendyll Tiedtke had 4, Jessica Stevens and Caitlyn Shefl had 3, and Alaina Farnik had 2.
