Funeral Services Raymond 'Ray' DeMuth

Mass of Christian Burial for Raymond “Ray” DeMuth, age 86, of Creighton, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. Reverend Jeremy Hans will be Celebrant, with burial in St. Ludger Catholic Cemetery.

Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1151 and American Legion Post 74.

Visitation will be Tuesday From 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton, with a 7:00 Wake Service.

Ray died Saturday, December 2, 2017, at University Medical Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Raymond J. DeMuth, son of Michael and Catherine (Goetzinger) DeMuth, was born May 5, 1931, at Elgin, NE. He attended country school, St. Ludger Academy, Plainview High School, graduated in 1949, and Coyne Electrical School in Chicago, IL, and graduated in 1955. On November 30, 1957, Ray was married to Marian H. (Randall) DeMuth at St. Ludger Catholic Church in Creighton. Four children were born to them: Terri, Tom, Patty, and Christa.

Ray worked at Zach Hardware in Plainview. He moved to Creighton in 1958, and started Ray’s Electric and was in business for 40 years. He retired in March 1998. He was a member of St. Ludger Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus and was also a member of VFW and Chamber of Commerce. His pastimes included fishing, camping, golfing, wood-working and spending time with his family. He served in the Army from November 1952 to November 1954, and was stationed in Trieste, Italy.

Survivors include his wife, Marian (Randall) DeMuth; sister, Helen (DeMuth) Hinrichsen of Sioux City, IA; daughters, Terri (DeMuth) Fuchs of Omaha, NE, Patty (DeMuth) Behrens and husband Tim of Elkhorn, NE, Christa (DeMuth) Eggers and husband James of Creighton, NE; son, Tom DeMuth and wife Pat of Creighton, NE; nine grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Don; one sister, Dolores (DeMuth) Thomas; and son-in-law, Roger Fuchs.
