Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Verdigre.

Vivian died Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at her residence.

Vivian Jane Vesely, daughter of Frank and Bessie (Sedlacek) Fisher, was born July 16, 1923, on their farm near Lynch, Nebraska. She attended rural school and graduated from Lynch High School in 1940. After graduation she attended Wayne State College to obtain her teaching degree and taught rural school for six years. On June 6, 1946, Vivian was united in marriage to William B. Vesely, at O’Neill, Nebraska. They were blessed with three children, Denise Kay James Franklin, and Patricia Jo.

Vivian grew up in Lynch, Nebraska and after her marriage, she moved to the Vesely farm in the Pischelville area where she lived for the next 50 years. She loved the outdoors, growing a garden, tending to the lawn and her flowers, raising chickens, milking cows, and helping Bill with farm chores when needed. In 1996, Vivian and William retired and moved to Verdigre.

Vivian was fortunate enough to have her children live near her and was able to be a part of her grandchildren’s lives. She was able to attend their various activities. In recent years, Vivian looked forward to visits with her great-grandchildren. She loved to read, play cards, crochet, patch, and enjoyed watching birds. She was a member of United Methodist Church in Verdigre and Pischelville ZCBJ Lodge #8, and Verdigre Valley Senior Citizens.

Vivian is survived by her children, Denise (Willard) Ruzicka, James (Terri) Vesely, and Patricia (Marlo) Drobny; grandchildren, Holly (Tim) Andersen, Dr. Neala (Randy) Boyer, Anthony Ruzicka, Jeremy (Shawna) Drobny, Jason (Angela) Vesely, Joshua (Kristin) Vesely, and Jordan Vesely; great-grandchildren, Tyler and Abigail Andersen, Gage and Ember Vesely, Noah Hvorka, Evan, Kale, Dane, and Kobe Vesely, Kellen and Asher Vesely, William and Edward Drobny, and Riland Boyer; and brother, Francis (Janie) Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bessie Fisher; husband, William Vesely; and great-grandchildren, Griffin, Gavin, and Jessany Jade Vesely.
