Funeral Services For Sharon Christiansen

Funeral services for Sharon Christiansen, age 72, of Creighton, Nebraska will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2018, at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton. Reverend Terry Huber will officiate, with burial in Pleasant View Cemetery in Plainview, Nebraska at a later date.

​Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.

Sharon died Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk, Nebraska.

Sharon Joy Christiansen, daughter of Woodrow “Dutch” and Connie (Wilcox) Spangler, was born July 11, 1946. She attended Ewing Public Schools. On March 2, 1968, Sharon was united in marriage to Ernest Jakob Christiansen at Ewing, Nebraska. They were blessed with one daughter, TyLynne.

Sharon and Ernest lived in rural Creighton after their marriage and were lifelong ranchers in northeast Nebraska. They were the original founders of SantaLand. Sharon worked as a nurse’s aide and physical therapy assistant at Creighton Care Centre. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Bazile Mills, Nebraska and was a philanthropist of many area children’s organizations.

Sharon died July 17, 2018, at the age of 72.

Sharon is survived by her daughter TyLynne (Michael) Bauer of Norfolk, Nebraska; six grandchildren, Marisela (Matthew) Hahne, Claudia Perez-Bauer, Suzy (Josh) Bolton, Elizabeth Perez-Bauer, Collin (fiancé Rachel) Bauer, and Madison Bauer; seven great-grandchildren, Anaveya, Marshall, Makayla, Blaze, Joshua, Maeya, and Luella; brother, Gerald (Jessie) Spangler of Ewing, Nebraska; sister, Gwen (Jim) Kethcart of Norfolk; brother-in-law, Gary (Alberta) Willers of Neligh, Nebraska; sister, Thelma Lamb of Grand Island, Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ernest Christiansen; sisters, Lois Willers and Laura Rommers; and infant brother, Billy Spangler.
