Funeral Services For Ronald Wessendorf

A Celebration of Life visitation for Ronald Wessendorf, age 73, of Bloomfield, Nebraska will be from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., with a time of sharing at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, September 19, 2015, at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton, Nebraska. Burial will be at a later date.

Ronald died Thursday, September 17, 2015, at his residence.

Ronald “Ron” Wessendorf, son of George and Ruth (Morgan) Wessendorf, was born October 16, 1941, at Storm Lake, Iowa. Ron attended Delaware Consolidated School in Nemaha, Iowa, and his senior year at Crestland in Early, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Sandra Sorensen on October 20, 1978, at Ida Grove, Iowa. Together they raised three children: Heather, Jason, and Ryan. 

Ron lived in Storm Lake until 1980, where he owned auto body repair shops. When he and Sandi moved to the Creighton, Nebraska area, he continued to do auto body repair and mechanic work. Ron also worked at Bloom-N-Egg Farm near Bloomfield, Nebraska, until he retired.

Ron enjoyed doing car repair and carpenter work. With his family's help, he remodeled their home and built a garage. Ron especially enjoyed caring for and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his wife, Sandi; children, Heather (Doug) DeLaRoi, Jason (Lisa)Wessendorf, and Ryan Wessendorf; eight grandsons, Wyatt Strom, Bryson and Beckett Wessendorf, Hunter and Chase DeLaRoi, and Mason, Cameron, and Collin Wessendorf; his children from a previous marriage, Kim, Brett, Terry, and Melissa; siblings, John and Suzanne; and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ruth Wessendorf; sister, Janet; and brothers, Larry and Richard.
