Funeral Services For Phillip Scheer

Funeral services for Phillip Scheer, age 76, of Creighton, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2017, at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton. Reverend Bev Hieb will officiate, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery in Creighton.

Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1151, American Legion Post 74, United States Air Force Honor Guard, and American Legion Riders.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Phillip died Friday, November 24, 2017, at his residence.

Phillip E. Scheer, son of Elmer and Erma (Nelson) Scheer, was born December 8, 1940, at Creighton, Nebraska. Phillip graduated from Creighton High School in 1960, and attended Northeast Community College, graduating with a degree in mechanics. He entered the United States Air Force in 1962, was stationed for two years at England Air Force Base and then for two years at Ogden Air Force Base in Ogden Utah. He was discharged in 1965. Phillip lived in Creighton most of his life and worked at Naprstek Motor as a mechanic for 35 years. He loved socializing at Shaffer’s Mini Mart, which later became CMart, for coffee every day with his coffee crew.

Phillip is survived by his brother, Dale (Dee) Scheer of Malcolm, Nebraska; nephew, Dale (Stephanie) Scheer, Jr. and their son, Asher; niece, Karen (Rob) Ernesti and their children and grandchildren, Jenny (Bryan) Smith, Eli and Aaron, Ashley (Griffen) Jadwin, Brittney (Adam) Kovar and Jackson, and Zachary Ernesti.

He was preceded into death by his parents; and sister, Lois.

Memorials may be directed to American Legion Post 74.
