Funeral Services For James Kellogg

Graveside services for James Kellogg, age 64, of Bloomfield, Nebraska will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Omaha Valley Cemetery in Homer, Nebraska. Father Dan Wittrock will officiate.

A memorial service for James will 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017, at First Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomfield. Reverend Jacob Bobby will officiate.

Brockhaus Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.

James died Wednesday, April 26, 2017, at Avera Sacred Heart Hospital in Yankton, South Dakota.

James W. Kellogg, son of Jim and Dorothy (Hulit) Kellogg, was born December 14, 1952, at Pender, Nebraska. He attended school in Emerson, Nebraska. James lived on a farm with his parents until his family moved to South Sioux City, Nebraska. James moved to Bloomfield, Nebraska in 1987. He was employed through NorthStar Services in several capacities. James operated his own business, JK Composting for approximately five years. He enjoyed celebrating special occasions and made friends easily. James attended weekly ERTH classes in Yankton, South Dakota and also enjoyed People First activities. James cared for everyone and will be dearly missed by his many friends. He never met a stranger.

James is survived by his sisters, Edna (Neal) Gilbert and Shirley Kellogg; brother, Charles Kellogg; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

​He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Everett Mertin Kellogg.
