Funeral Services For Charles Waterman

Funeral services for Charles “Chuck” Waterman, age 86, of Creighton, Nebraska will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at Zion Lutheran Church in Creighton. Pastor Milana Joseph will officiate, with burial in Hope Enterprise Cemetery in Orchard, Nebraska.

Military Honors will be provided by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1151 and American Legion Post 74.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Brockhaus Funeral Home in Creighton.
Charles died Thursday, October 26, 2017, at Avera Creighton Care Centre.

Charles Fredrick Waterman was born June 20, 1931, at Royal, Nebraska to George and Clara (Pfanstiel) Waterman. Charles was confirmed at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Venus on October 24, 1947. He attended school at District 44 at Venus. Charles was drafted into the United States Army on July 10, 1952, and served in the Korean War. He was honorably discharged on April 13, 1954. Charles was employed as a brand inspector from September 1, 1956 to December 31, 2004.

Charles was united in marriage to Bess Hartman on January 20, 1960, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Orchard. One son, Lee, was born to this union.

Charles is survived by his wife, Bess; children, Vicki (David) Gleisberg of Seward, Bill (Sheryl) Waterman of Kane, Pennsylvania, and Dale (Debra) Waterman of O’Neill; daughter-in-law, Shannon Waterman of Creighton; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Fern (Al) Schneider of Pierce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Lee; brothers, Walter, Louis, Lester, and Arthur; sister, Anna Mizner; and two sisters in infancy.
