Ultimate Warriorz Winners From Saturday's Contest

Nine two-person teams competed in the first annual Ultimate Warriorz Contest in Santee on Saturday.  The 1st place team members met for the first time the day of the event. Winners are as follows:








First Place ($750 and star quilt)
Team Savages - Louis Swiftbird from Spirit Lake and Pearl Mousseau from Pine Ridge.
Second Place ($550)
Team Native Pride - Fred Ducheneau and Joylin Philbrick from Sisseton  (a father daughter team.)
Third Place ($350) 
Team Cante' Skuya - Bill Wells and Tina Gonzales from Ft. Thompson
Fourth Place ($250)
Team Fast Arrow - Lindrae Starlin and Milton Denny from Santee
Fifth Place ($100)
Team John - Cecil Hoffman and Danielle John from Sioux City - Cousins.


According to Dawne Price, one of the sponsors  of the event," The first place team was amazing - the canopy for the teepee was tangled and the young man climbed one of the interior poles to straighten it. He also managed a not very happy horse with expertise and hit the arrow target first shot."
