Niobrara-Verdigre Competes At NVC Track Meet

The Niobrara-Verdigre High School and Junior High track teams competed at the Niobrara Valley Conference meet Tuesday. 

The Cougar boys finished 11th with 22 points as a team, while the girls finished 12th with 2 points.

The top performer on the day for the boys was Cade Kalkowski, who finished second in the discus with a throw of 140' 1". Kevin Rudloff also had a strong showing , running the lead leg of the 4x800 meter relay team that finished third and earning fourth individually in the 800 meter run.

On the girls side, the Cougars took home three eighth place finishes. The 4x800 m relay team and the 4x400 meter relay team both had good showings, while Bailey Frey was the lone individual medalist for the Cougars.
