The national day of the cowboy will be filled with lots of family fun on Saturday in Niobrara with events planned the entire day.
Desperado Days kicks off Friday, July 25, with Cruise Night from 7-9 p.m. Participants are asked to meet at Moody Motors.
Most of the events will take place on Saturday, beginning with a cowboy breakfast (free-will offering) at the Niobrara Lutheran Church from 8-11 a.m.

Trail Ride, 9 a.m., meet at Terry's Hair Salon
Digging For Gold, 9:30 a.m., back of the basketball court
Scavenger Hunt, 10 a.m., east of the beauty shop
Treasure Hunt & Ring Toss, 10:30 a.m., east of the beauty shop
Horse Basketball Shootout, 11 a.m., at the basketball court
Iron Man Poker Run, Noon, at Jimmy Dean's Lounge
Root Beer Floats/Sidewalk sale, 12-3 p.m., at Farnik's Market
Bronco Buster Horse Games, 1-3 p.m., at Sage Memorial.
Free Events at Niobrara Trading Post, beginning at 3 p.m.
Petting zoo, laser tag, remote control car races, shoot out, sports booth, inflatables, sand box, dunk tank (fundraiser for fire department)
Beer Garden, 3 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Stick Horse Races, 4 p.m., rodeo grounds
Grand March Open of the Rodeo, 4 p.m., crowning of king and queen, buffalo chip throwing contest, horseshoe contest
Sunday features a 9 a.m. church service at Sage Memorial. People are encouraged to bring their own chairs and to stay for coffee and rolls afterward.
