The Niobrara VFW Post 4834 and American Legion Post 224 and Auxiliaries will be hosting a Memorial Day Program Monday, May 25. It will begin at 11 am at L'Eau Qui Court Cemetery, Niobrara. The Santee Memorial Day Program will be at 9 am.
Colors will be posted by the VFW and Legion, and the Niobrara High School Choir Students will sing the National Anthem.
The Pledge of Allegiance will be led by Legion Commander Jim Scott and VFW Chaplain Bill Freiburghouse will have the memorial prayer.
Commander Scott and VFW Commander Jack Peterson will then perform the placing of the wreath on the grave.
After Commander Scott announces the Memorial to Departed Comrades he will introduce speaker Jeff Hart of Lynch, Nebraska.
Both the Legion and VFW will participate in the Tribute to Departed Veterans. The program will conclude with Officer of the Day, Robert Crosley and Bugler, Bob Olson.
In case of inclement weather, the program will be at the W.F.L.A. Hall.
