Niobrara Gearing Up For Desperado Days This Weekend

Friday night's Rolling Thunder Car Cruise kicks off this year's Niobrara Desperado Days this weekend.  It will begin at 7pm at Moody Motors.  A Cowpoke Supper and Vigilante Night Golf will round out the first night of the celebration.
Saturday's full slate of activities begins with a Cowboy breakfast at 7 am at the Lutheran Church Hall.  The Trail Ride leaves from the ball fields. Pre-register by calling Al Brock at 336-1164.
Many events can be enjoyed at 10 am.  Guests can visit the museums and the vendor fair at the WFLA Hall. The Hall will also have an Old West Photo Shoot and a walking taco fundraiser for the Honor Society.  There will be a basketball shootout at the basketball courts and the kids' Sand 
Dig behind the courts.
At noon, there will be a hot dog special at Farnik's Market.  Following at 1:00 enjoy the Cowboy Carnival in the Mall Hallway.  This includes Candy Corn and Clyde the Clown, as well as "Rounding Up the Pony Boys" Scavenger Hunt.  
The Chuckwagon BBQ will begin at 4:30 and last until 6:30 at the WFLA Hall.  Ranch Rodeo and Calcutta begins at 5 at the rodeo arena.  This year's king and queen will be crowned at 6pm at the hall.  Humanities speaker Pat Boilsen will begin his program at 6:15 and "Dance Hall Girls" (melodrama) will begin at 7pm.
On Sunday, the Trail Ride will again leave from the ball fields, this time at 8 am.  To finish off the weekend, bring your chairs to the Sage Brothers Memorial for Cowboy Ecumenical Church at 9 am.
