Konopasek Advances At State Wrestling With Two Key Wins

Clay Konopasek picked up back-to-back wins Friday morning, advancing to the third round of consolations at the state wrestling tournament.

At 160 pounds, the Niobrara/Verdigre wrestler earned a 6-4 decision over Justin Pendleton of Medicine Valley before pinning Braiden Gomez of Axtell in 4:26.

Konopasek will wrestle again on Friday afternoon in the third round of consolations. With a win, he will be guaranteed a medal at the state tournament.
