![]() There are a host of fascinating activities scheduled at the Niobrara State Park this weekend. All day Friday and Saturday, attend the Becoming an Outdoors Woman (BOW) ~ Niobrara/Missouri River kayaking trip. Beyond BOW is designed to teach more advanced skills. From 10 am - 2 pm on Saturday, Rangers are offering a chance to discover the real Missouri River. There will be activities introducing colorful, historic characters to the whole family. The title of the program is "Characters and Culture of the River." See the flyer below for more details. From 10 am to 4 pm Saturday there will be a geo-caching event at the Buffalo Cookout Shelter. Gary and LIz Doerr and Will and Shirley Dangler will be leading the cachers throughout the day. The always-popular "Buffalo Cookout and Entertainment" will be Saturday at the Buffalo Cookout Shelter.You must register for the meal at the Park Office by noon on Saturday. The cost is $12 for adults and $8 for children under 13. The entertainment for the evening is by Darrel Draper. He will be presenting "Jean Baptiste Charbonneau "Pomp" son of Toussaint Charbonneau and Sacagawea." Raised by William Clark, Charbonneau was a trapper, scout and world explorer. A park permit is required for all events. |
