Fall Registration At Santee NICC - New Building And Classes

It is time to register for the fall semester at Nebraska Indian Community College (NICC). This college is open to ALL learners.  The Santee campus hours for registration are M-Th 8:30 am - 5 pm, and Fridays from 8 am - 4:30 pm.  Students can also register by appointment by calling Doris at 402-241-5929 or  1-844-440-6422 ext. 118.
The Fall Semester will begin September 1 and end on December 18.
Current programs at the college include: Business Administration; Early Childhood Studies; Carpentry; Native American Studies; General Liberal Arts; and General Liberal Sciences.  
New this fall is the Vocational Building.  This will house the carpentry program.  A 4-week CNA course will also be offered for the first time this fall.  This course is open to the public. In addition, a new entrepreneurship emphasis will be available in the business program. 
According to Mary Johnson - Interim Academic Dean - NICC  was started in the early 1970's as an affiliate of Northeast Community College.  The College went on its own in 1979.  The college is made up of 3 campuses: South Sioux City, Macy, and Santee.  This past spring, total enrollment at all 3 campuses was 120 student.  There are 8 full-time staff in Santee with 3 full-time faculty. Classes at NICC are fully transferable.
