At Least One Air Lifted After Rollover Into Ravine

At least one person was transported by helicopter following a one-vehicle rollover into a ravine Sunday morning on Highway 12 about a half mile east of the Highway 54D spur toward Santee.

Rescue units and fire trucks from multiple areas, including Santee/Sioux Nation, Bloomfield and Niobrara, lined Highway 12 as several occupants were lifted from the ravine in ambulances. Multiple officers from the Santee/Sioux Nation Police Department were running the scene. The call came in at about 8:30 a.m.

Two helicopters landed at Ohiya Casino, where at least one person was air lifted. The pickup involved in the accident is registered in Dodge County, Nebraska.
