Despite entering the tournament as the seventh seed and taking a first round loss, Crofton never doubted themselves as they battled back to earn a spot in the Class C Area 1 tournament game.

Unfortunately, they were not able to keep the fight going, losing to top-seeded Atkinson 14-10 to take the area runner-up title.

Crofton got the scoring started with one run in the first before Atkinson put three runs on the board in the top of the second. Atkinson added one more in the third before Crofton reclaimed the lead in the bottom of the frame with a four run inning. However, that would be all the closer the game was, as Atkinson scored ten runs in the next three innings. Crofton was able to score four runs in the final inning, including three with two outs, but a Justin Lange groundout ended the game and sent Atkinson to state.

Leading the way offensively for Crofton was Lucas Thingstad. From his leadoff spot, Thingstad started slow before scoring in the final two innings to help keep Crofton in the game. Every other starter for Crofton also reached home plate in the game.
