In a battle that had the potential to decide the front runner for the Class C2 District 4 title, Crofton was able to sneak out a tough win over Hartington Cedar Catholic 28-20.

The Trojans got the scoring started with a field goal in the first, but Crofton soon countered with a Tanner Crosley touchdown run.

In the second quarter, it seemed as though Hartington Cedar Catholic had taken control as they added another field goal and two touchdowns before Grant Wragge connected with Noah McFarland for a 25 yard touchdown pass. Going into the halftime break, the Trojans led the Warriors 20-14.

However, from there the Warrior defense would lock down and shut out the Trojans for the rest of the night. Ethan Poppe came through with a 25 yard touchdown run to take the lead for Crofton. He added a two yard touchdown run in the fourth to secure the win for the Warriors.

Next week, Crofton will take on another highly ranked district foe when they travel to Battle Creek.

In other Knox County results from Friday:
Wausa fell to Randolph 66-6.
Niobrara/Verdigre fell to Plainview 50-6.
Creighton continued their dominance, beating Wakefield 70-20.
Bloomfield's rushing attack dominated St. Mary's for a 36-12 win.
