A 63-year-old Crofton man and 22-year-old Fordyce woman were fatally injured in a two-vehicle accident near Hartington on Friday afternoon. A vehicle driven by Bradley Schumacher, 63 of Crofton was struck head-on by a vehicle driven by Mollie Schieffer, 22 of Fordyce. Schieffer was traveling eastbound when she crossed the center line colliding with Schumacher, according to officials. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Wynot Fire & Rescue, Hartington Fire & Rescue, Nebraska Department of Roads and Nebraska State Patrol assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation by the Cedar County Sheriff’s Office. |
