Crofton Girls Win 10th Straight State Title; Boys Are Sixth

Crofton captured its 10th straight state girls championship Friday afternoon while sophomore Haley Arens took home the individual gold medal. The boys finished sixth as a team.

Arens, a sophomore, was the Class D state runner-up last season. She won the 2015 title in 19:29.4.

Also leading the girls were Krista Zavadil (16th-21:19.9), Kyla Dendinger (19th-21:34.7), Samantha Altwine (21st-21:39.9), Keeley Hagge (100th-24:09.1) and Jessica Lange (103rd 24:13.8). 

In the boys division, Jake Neuhalfen led the Warriors in 18th place with a time of 17:53.2. Also for Crofton - Tanner Arens (48th-18:36.2), Brady Stucky (59th-18:44.0), Justin Goeden (60th-18:44.5), Mark Lange (100th-19:38.0) and Tyler Janssen (109th-19:43.1).
