Creighton scored a dominating 40-point win Tuesday night to cruise into the Class D1 state semifinals.
At No. 6 High Plains, the second-seeded Bulldogs ran all over High Plains, despite the Storm drawing first blood on a 56-yard run.
Lane Walton answered for the Bulldogs with a one-yard run to retake the lead, which Creighton never gave up again. Walton scored again for the 16-6 advantage after the Bulldogs picked up a High Plains fumble.
The Storm made it a 14-12 game when Kyler VanHousen returned a kickoff for a score. But the Bulldogs answered with TDs from Ryan Neumann, Walton and Brook Baller for a 38-12 lead after the first quarter. Baller and Neumann each scored again for the 58-26 half-time lead.
Creighton will play the winner of Bruning-Davenport-Shickley/Guardian Angels Central Catholic on Monday, Nov. 16.
