Creighton senior Sarah Smith made history by becoming the first student in school history to hold a national FCCLA office.
Smith was announced as first vice president of the national executive team. She is the daughter of Dean and Jenny Smith.
Earlier this year, Smith became the first student from Creighton to be a national officer candidate. Her next historical step came this week at the national convention in San Antonio.
Several other Creighton students also attended. All of Creighton's STAR competitors qualified for nationals. Those competing were Garrison Hazen in Nutrition and Wellness, Makayla Roher in Focus on Children, Kaitlin Sukup and Destiny Jacobsen in Food Innovations, Tiffany Patrick in Job Interview, and Smith in Health and Wellness in which she earned the highest state placing.
