Unofficial results are in on the recall attempt of Creighton Board of Education President Dan Morrill.
The lone question on the ballot read: “Shall Dan Morrill be removed from the office of the Creighton School Board?" Votes were cast at the Walter T. Larsen Senior Citizen Center in Creighton on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Results were: 210 in favor of his removal and 449 against his removal.
Results are unofficial until after the canvasing board adjourns. These results include Knox County, Antelope County and the early voting precinct as released by the Knox County Clerk Joann M. Fischer.
Jody Fuchtman of Creighton filed an affidavit for the recall on April 20. Morrill was given 20 days to respond. After that, Fuchtman was given 30 days to obtain 165 valid signatures of registered voters in Creighton's district. In that time, she collected 180 valid signatures - 164 in Knox County and 16 in Antelope County, forcing Tuesday's special election.
