After falling behind 2-1 to Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley in the sixth, Creighton's first round hopes were looking grim.
That all changed in the bottom of the seventh when Austin Diedrichsen's base hit brought in the game tying run to send the game to extra innings.
In the bottom of the eighth, Creighton brought in the game tying run thanks to a throwing error by the PWG pitcher, winning 3-2. Ryan Newman earned the win on the mound for Creighton.
The win sends Creighton to the next round of the Class C State Tournament in Ainsworth. They will face Albion Sunday. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
