Creighton Tops Crofton At State Baseball Tournament

In an all-Knox County showdown at the Class C Junior American Legion State Baseball tournament in Creighton, it was the host team defeating Crofton on Sunday night.

Playing on its home field of Greg Paesl Memorial Field, Creighton topped Crofton 8-2, advancing to the quarterfinal game against Louisville on Monday night at 8 p.m.

It was the fifth time the two have played this season. Crofton won the last three meetings, including both games at districts.

With the loss, Crofton falls to the loser's bracket and will play at 2 p.m. on Monday. Crofton potentially could see Creighton for a sixth time this season - either Tuesday or Wednesday - since it's a double-elimination tournament.
