After losing in the second round to Albion, Creighton was ready for payback. They got it Tuesday.
Creighton topped Albion in an elimination game, with a championship game berth on the line, 10-0.
Creighton came flying out of the gate, scoring four runs in the first and two in the second to take a 6-0 lead after two innings. They added one run in the fourth before a three-run Devin Geiseman home run in the seventh gave Creighton a 10-0 lead.
Albion couldn't find an answer for Creighton pitcher Ryan Newman, who held Albion scoreless for the game on only four hits. Albion also committed three errors while Creighton had four errors of their own.
The win sends Creighton to the championship game of the Class C State Tournament against Malcolm. Since Malcolm has yet to lose in the tournament, Creighton will need to win two games to earn the state championship. First pitch is scheduled for Wednesday at 4 p.m.
