Creighton edged out Howells Dodge by 1 point in Class C Junior State American Legion Baseball Tournament on Saturday night.
The Creighton Juniors picked up a 6-5 first round win to advance. They will play Arlington on Sunday at 7:30 p.m. Arlington defeated Alma 5-0 to advance.
Against Howells Dodge, the Creighton Juniors jumped out to a 3-0 lead after three innings. Each team scored one in the fourth, but a big fifth inning by Howells Dodge tied up the game, 4-4.
Both teams were scoreless in the sixth, seventh and eighth innings, so it all came down to the final inning. Creighton scored 2 runs, while their opponent was only able to get one home.
Ryan Neumann was 2 of 4 with a double at the plate for Creighton and Wyatt Diedrichsen was the winning pitcher.
