The Creighton Juniors won Monday evening's game to stay alive in the Class C Junior State American Legion Baseball Tournament in Dodge.
Creighton defeated Palmer-Wolbach-Greeley 8-5, in a loser's bracket game, eliminating PWG from the tourney.
Creighton will play again Tuesday, July 21 at 7:30 p.m. Creighton will get a chance to avenge their only loss at state as they play Arlington again.
Creighton and PWG appeared to be closely matched as both teams put up one run in the first inning. Creighton had a big third inning, scoring 3 runs for a 4-1 lead. Another solid offensive showing in the fifth inning added three to Creighton's lead. PWG tried to close the gap, but came up short.
Creighton had 10 hits and 2 errors in the game, while PWG posted 9 hits and 5 errors.
Wyatt Diedrichsen was the winning pitcher and John Novicki led Creighton at the plate going 2 of 4 with a 2RBI double.
