Creighton Juniors Top Albion To Stay Alive At Area Tourney

The Creighton Juniors kept their season alive with a strong 9-1 win over Albion in the Class C Area 2 tournament Sunday in Albion.

Both teams started off strong defensively, with neither team scoring a run until the third inning. However, that's all the more quiet the game would be as Creighton scored three in the third, one in the fourth, and four in the fifth to take a commanding lead. They scored also scored one insurance run in the top of the seventh.

Albion was unable to get anything going offensively, scoring just one run in the game. Creighton's John Novicki kept the Albion bats in check all day, earning the win. Carter Henry took the loss for Albion.

Creighton moves on to play Battle Creek at 5:30 p.m. for a chance to move on to the area championship. The loss eliminates Albion, ending their season.
