Consistency Keeps Creighton Seniors Alive At State

Creighton scored a run in five of the seven innings in their elimination game against Alma to stay alive at the Class C State Tournament, winning 9-3.

Alma jumped out to a 2-0 lead after the first, but Creighton tied the game with two runs of their own in the second. They added one run in the third and two runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings each to eliminate Alma. 

Offensively, Creighton was lead by Bryce Zimmerer, who went 3 for 4, and Ryan Neumann, who went 2 for 3. Tristan Simons was credited with the win on the mound for Creighton.

The win sets Creighton up for a rematch with Albion. The elimination game is scheduled for Tuesday at 4 p.m.
