Bulldogs Start Season with Big Win

The Creighton Bulldogs football team won their opener over Niobrara/Verdigre on Friday August 29th in Niobrara. The final score was 72-8.

Everyone got some playing time in Friday's game and JV and freshman groups all scored. The Cougars scored in the final seconds of the quarter on a two-yard run, the extra-point run was good. 

The quarter ended with Creighton ahead, 14-8. From then on, the Bulldogs owned the game. 

We were informed that several members of Verdigre's 1964 football team were in attendance. They were the last team from Verdigre or Niobrara to beat the Bulldogs, 50 years ago.

Next week is a home game vs. Elgin Public/Pope John Wolfpack on Friday, September 5th.
