Missions change the way people see faith and the world.  19 youth and six sponsors from the Community Youth Group witnessed this on their trip to Eagle Pass Texas, July 14-21.

While in Eagle Pass, they worked alongside the Mission Boarder Hope Team.  The area youth group built bunk beds, cleaned, painted, mowed, installed door knobs, a washer and dryer and a water heater in a home that was available for a family in need.

The youth then had the privilege to meet, help move and set up this home for the family. God was seen when keys to this home were given over to the new residents Rolly and Maria and their grandchildren.

The Community Youth Group spent the afternoons spreading Gods Love through Vacation Bible School, taught at the Kids Klub.  There were bonds made with these kids while singing songs, telling Bible stories, doing crafts and sharing snacks.

While in Eagle Pass, the youth were able to purchase shoes for the kids of Kids Klub.  They worked to fill emergency and low-income food bags for a local food pantry then during the evenings, they delivered food bags to homeless and those in need while getting a tour of the poverty in Eagle Pass and the surrounding area along the United States border.

Another family with electrical issues was delighted when they stopped in to correct some wiring and left them with working electricity.  After a lot of hard work, the youth traveled to San Antonio to tour the Alamo and River Walk and enjoy an afternoon at Sea World.

The Community Youth Group have had the privilege to be the hands and feet of Jesus and answer prayers for families by putting their homes back together or by delivering some food. They learned that God is faithful and merciful to us no matter what we ask for.

God knows our needs and will surely meet them—no matter how great. The need is great in Texas, but so is our God.

“Thank you for all your prayers, encouraging words and donations for a life changing trip,” organizers said.
