A Bloomfield woman is in jail after she was arrested on drug charges and disturbing the peace.
In a news release, officers were called to 1414 S. 3rd Street in regards to a disturbance call that occurred Friday evening. The caller complained of a woman, 36-year old, Melinda Tyler of Bloomfield, was banging on the doors of her apartment and was refusing to leave. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Tyler had pulled a fire alarm in the building
Upon questioning Tyle, officers recovered a glass pipe containing meth residue. She was arrested for possession of a controlled substance and disturbing the peace. Tyler was booked and confined and is currently being housed in the Madison County Jail.
In a previous incident that occured in 2016, Tyler was charged with possession of a controlled substance, resisting arrest and disturbing the peace after she was reportedly yelling and hitting a Coinstar machine at Walmart at the Norfolk location.
