Legion Post 249 has floor plans and some funds to get started on the kitchen renovation at the pavilion. Demolition took place this past Saturday and the Legion members are thankful to all those who showed up to help.
Cabinets with counter tops and sinks have been ordered and new light fixtures are being installed as well as a new bright fresh paint job.
Recently the long cooler under the bar has quit working. The plan is now to replace it with a highly efficient 3 door vertical cooler to put on wall behind bar, which will have better access for serving.
Many good memories over the years at dances and wedding receptions were talked about and shared at the demolition.
The Legion pavilion was built in 1923 with the bar, kitchen, and restrooms were added in 1982.
Funds are still needed to finish the project and keep this landmark up to date and satisfy the state inspector. Post 249 thanks the community for all the support.
Anyone wishing to donate and send to Ray Lamb Post 249 at PO Box 165, Bloomfield, NE 68718-0165.
