The American Legion Pavilion in Bloomfield has been remodeling the kitchen for the past few weeks, and thanks to local volunteers, the remodel is now complete. Post 249 Commander, Bryan Young said he has been blown away by all the volunteer help that showed up during work nights to help.
New cabinets and sinks were installed, new flooring put down, a fresh paint job, new lighting as well as some old stories told of past pavilion memories.
It was a large group effort as many people stepped up to help with the remodel.
Nick and Rayde Nipp donated an electric stove and refrigerator. Alan Jeannoutot also donated all the plumbing materials and labor to install the plumbing. Scott Ober and Eric Miller played a large roll with their expertise in installing cabinets. Rick Kuchar did the electrical work and Hefner Ace Hardware donated a used furnace and Derek Thiele installed it.
“Many volunteers were essential to the project, including: Ben Lauck, Jennifer Lauck, Todd Sauser, Minnie Sauser, Kristi Wagner, Greg Wagner, Denise Koertje, Jeff Abbenhaus, Kasi Abbenhaus, Jim Cripe, Mark Fehringer, Eric Miller, Scott Ober, Todd Edwards, Alan Jeannoutot, Gabe Lauck, Tyson Sauser. I apologize if I forgot anyone,” Young said.
Funds are still needed to finish paying the remodel bills, those feeling generous can donate by sending checks to Ray Lamb Post 249 PO Box 165, Bloomfield, NE 68718-0165.
