Minor Accidents Reported Following 'Jaxon'

After the recent snowfall, the police department investigated two minor vehicle accidents downtown.  Both accidents involved crossing an intersection without being able to see the other side of the snow that is piled up in the middle of the street to be hauled away.  Whenever we have such a large amount of snow fall, it takes time to haul that much snow to the fairgrounds. 

The police department would like to ask everyone to proceed slowly when crossing intersections and to look carefully before passing the snow piled up to see if the other lane of traffic is clear. 

​We also ask everyone to avoid driving in the block where the loader is working.  It is difficult for the loader operator to see traffic and focus on performing his task.  Please do not drive anywhere near the loader.

It is important to remember that it is difficult for both vehicles and city crew to see one another during these times. Please take extra caution during the snow removal efforts.
