Telephone and mail scams are always something to be aware of. 

Some recent scam attempts in Bloomfield have been a phone call from someone claiming to be with the Social Security Administration.  They claim that your payments have increased, but they need your information to confirm it.  This is a scam.

No legitimate agency would ever ask you for your personal information over the phone.  Please do not give out your personal information to ANYONE over the phone.
 
If you receive a call that you believe is a scam, contact the police department.
