"We would like to remind the public that our town is getting a new road laid down.  This comes with many construction workers and equipment.  We all know what this entails; we’ve all encountered this sometime during our lives.  We need everybody to please be patient when you are at any intersection, or waiting for the pace car.  We have already had several close calls of workers almost getting hit by impatient drivers that don’t want to wait for the pilot car.  This department does not want to start writing citations, but if these complaints continue to come in, we will.  Nebraska law states that any citation wrote in a construction zone, will be doubled in cost as construction workers will be present. We don’t want a worker getting hit by a vehicle.  Thank you for your cooperation regarding this issue."
