Knox Co Teams Aim To Extend Seasons In Area Tourneys

Three Knox County Junior Legion teams are hoping to extend their season with strong play at their respective area tournaments beginning Friday.

In the Class C Area 1 tournament in Neligh, second-seeded Bloomfield/Wausa takes on the seventh seed, Crofton in a first round battle of Knox County teams. First pitch is set for 2 p.m. at Neligh's Riverside Park.

Creighton looks to come out on top of a strong seven-team bracket in the Class C Area 2 tournament in Albion. The three seed, Creighton takes on sixth-seeded Logan View in a first round matchup scheduled for 5:30 p.m. 

Championship games for both tournaments are scheduled for Tuesday, with the winners of each area earning a bid to the state tournament next weekend, hosted by Tri-County.
