Knights Of Columbus Donate To Veterans Memorial

The Bloomfield Knights of Columbus presented a check for $800 to Joe Skrivan for the Veterans Memorial this week. A portion of the proceeds from the Knights of Columbus' annual fish fry went to the Veterans Memorial donation.

This donation brings Skrivan one step closer to finishing the Veterans Memorial, which has been about seven years in the making. The main attraction of this memorial will be large black stones adorning names of Bloomfield veterans. 

The original plan called for four stones, which did not prove to be enough for the number of names flooding in. According to Skrivan, additions like these have shifted the goal budget a little higher, so donations like this make a great difference.

Donations like the one from the Knights of Columbus bring Skrivan closer to his new goal of $250,000.

Work on the project will continue this spring with the pouring of the concrete for the outer ring. The project will hopefully be completed this summer of fall.
