After interviewing high school juniors for the American Legion Cornhusker Boys’ State program, Post 249 announced that they will be sending Logan Johnson and Braden Eisenhauer from Bloomfield to the event.
Johnson is the son of Chris and Shannon Johnson and Eisenhauer is the son of Gary and Janel Eisenhauer. The duo were chosen to join nearly 400 other high school juniors from across Nebraska.
They will head to Lincoln in early June and spend seven days at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln on the downtown campus.
According to Legion Post 249 members, the program is designed to provide youths with a better understanding of how city, county and state governments operate.
To be chosen for the honor of attending Boys’ State, the boys were tested on their knowledge of government. The Auxiliary will not be sending any participants to Girls’ State for the second year in a row, due to the lack of applicants.
