An individual was successfully extricated from a grain bin Thursday morning near Bloomfield.
The Bloomfield/Lindy Fire Department and Bloomfield Ambulance responded to an emergency grain bin extrication at 10:13 a.m. on Thursday at a rural address west of Bloomfield, according Michaela Jessen, Bloomfield/Lindy rescue squad vice president.
Jessen said the first responders were able to perform a successful extrication. No other information is available on the individual or the person's condition.
The Bloomfield Fire and Rescue and Ambulance Services conducted a grain drill last March as part of its ongoing training exercises.
During the drill in March, Jessen said, "The role of ambulance in the drill was to provide patient care insight."
She added that it is also important that the fire and ambulance work together in emergencies, so they want to train together to build cohesiveness and efficiency between entities.
