Garry Young Receives Citizen Of The Year Award

The Bloomfield Ruritan Club held their annual holiday meeting Nov. 28 where they announced their Citizen of the Year Award.

This award goes to someone very involved in the community, one who genuinely cares about the well being of Bloomfield. They also work hard to do their part in making Bloomfield the best it can be.

The Ruritan Club has a hard time choosing who to give this award to every year because Bloomfield has an abundance of giving citizens.

Garry Young was this year's recipient of the award.

"This man has been a business owner in Bloomfield for 50 years, he's a member of the Methodist church and is very active in the community," Dan Hoppe said as he presented the award to Young.

Young has owned Garry's Farm Service Inc. in Bloomfield since March of 1966 and is very involved in the community.
