At the recent Gilsdorf get-together in Bloomfield, four members of the Gilsdorf family were presented with homemade quilts.
The Quilt of Valor was made for Earl Gilsdorf by Kathy Nielsen and Elva May Del La Roi. The quilts for Mel Gilsdorf, Donald Gilsdorf and Clifford Gilsdorf were made by Carol Murray.
The family is proud of Earl, Mel, Donald and Clifford for serving the U.S. proudly in the armed forces. These quilts have been verified with the Quilt of Valor program and these are now part of the more than 216,000 quilts that have been made for service members and veterans who have been wounded physically or psychologically.
The mission of the Quilts of Valor Foundation is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing Quilts of Valor. The Quilts of Valor Foundation began in 2003.
