Despite scoring 57 runs in their first three games of the Class C Area 1 tournament, the Bloomfield/Wausa Juniors were unable to keep their hot streak alive. They were eliminated Monday night after a 14-7 loss to top-seeded Atkinson.
After giving up three runs in the bottom of the first inning, Bloomfield/Wausa was able to tie the game up in the second but were unable to keep it close for the rest of the game. Atkinson brought around five runs in the bottom of the second to take an 8-3 lead. Bloomfield/Wausa Scored two runs in the third, one in the fourth and one more in the sixth but Atkinson matched them at every step, pulling away for good with a four run inning in the bottom of the sixth.
The loss eliminates Bloomfield/Wausa and ends their season with a top four finish in their area.
