Bloomfield/Wausa Dominates Ainsworth Junior To Stay Alive

Just a day after scoring 20 runs in a 28-20 loss to Neligh, Bloomfield/Wausa Junior Legion used an absolutely dominating performance to stay alive in the Class C Area 1 tournament in Neligh Sunday, defeating Ainsworth 24-2 in five innings.

Bloomfield/Wausa got off to a strong start, scoring 21 runs in the first three innings. They added three more in the top of the fifth. 

Ainsworth was held at bay by the Bloomfield/Wausa pitchers, scoring one run in the first and one in the fourth. The loss eliminates Ainsworth, ending their season a day after winning their first game of the year.

With the 24 runs Sunday, Bloomfield/Wausa has now scored a total of 57 runs in just three games in the tournament. They look to keep the bats hot as they face Atkinson Monday at 5 p.m. in Neligh.
